INSIDE THIS ISSUE: 2018 IN REVIEW | OVERVIEW VIDEO | COMMUNITY INPUT | PEEK AT 2019
Looking Back at 2018
Keeping South Bay communities informed about the Clearwater Project has been a priority for the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County for many years. In 2018, we met with many community and business groups to discuss this important infrastructure project, which begins construction in 2019. Below is a slideshow highlighting our 2018 efforts.
Project Overview Video
We produced a 5-minute video that provides an overview of the project, including why the project is needed, what the project is, and how the project will be constructed. To view the video, click on the image below. You can also visit the project website (clearwater.lacsd.org) or Facebook page (facebook.com/ClearwaterProjectLA).
Partnering with the Community
In 1978, a Citizen's Advisory Committee (CAC) was created to inform the public and give them a forum to provide input about activities occurring at the Joint Water Pollution Control Plant. Over the years, the CAC has provided valuable input that helped us to be better neighbors. All are welcome to attend. For more information on the CAC, contact Chair Ray DePietro at 310-835-1959. Here is a recent photo of CAC members.
A Peek at 2019
The Clearwater Project construction is expected to begin in 2019. Stay tuned for announcements regarding an upcoming public workshop and groundbreaking ceremony. Throughout 2019, we will continue to meet with community groups as requested.
