The Clearwater Project was approved after a multi-year evaluation of the main sewer system serving nearly half of Los Angeles County. A new 7-mile tunnel, a key component of the project, is being constructed to protect local waterways by addressing aging infrastructure.

On October 23, we provided a construction update to LA County Beaches and Harbors Ocean Commission at Royal Palms Beach. We gave an overview of the project, shared our progress, and shared information on construction-related activities at Royal Palms Beach.

Clearwater Presentation to Sanitation Districts Board of Directors

Today, we provided a construction update to our Sanitation Districts Board of Directors. Our presentation included an overview of the Clearwater Project's construction progress, including tunneling completed to date and estimated work left to complete.

Construction Update Construction Update Rachel, the name of our tunnel boring machine, continues to dig the new Clearwater tunnel. To date, she has passed the 4-mile mark and is near Western Avenue and Capital Drive. Rachel has approximately three miles to go in the next year to complete the tunnel connection from our treatment plant in Carson to Royal Palms Beach outfall.
