Clearwater tunnel construction is moving under Dodson Avenue in December 2024. Construction will pass deep under your street, (approximately 300 feet or more) using state-of-the art tunnel boring machine (TBM) that will build this tunnel as it digs. The tunnel path does not travel under homes and primarily follows the public right of way (i.e., the street). Tunnel construction is coming from the northern end of Dodson Avenue and will continue south until meeting Western Avenue (past 16th Street) as shown on this map.
Residents should not notice anything different as the TBM digs past your area. There are many monitoring safeguards in place and all tunnel construction is closely watched using an extensive electronic sensor system with over 1,000 locations installed along the tunnel's path.
